REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
PURPOSE: The Human Resources Manager requires hands on knowledge of all HR disciplines, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, leave administration, worker’s compensation and HRIS. This HR professional will work on multiple projects supporting the overall business. This position is highly visible within the plant. Must have strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy. Position requires high level of confidentiality.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Employee relations:  (30%)  Establish and maintain a positive employee relations environment at the facility, implement and consistently administer policies and procedures, develop and implement Issue Resolution Process, participate in local HR/management organizations. Plan and coordinate special employee events.  Performs exit interviews.  Function as an employee advocate and liaison on various matters. Uses established policies to assist managers and employees with workplace issues.
  • Communications:  (20%)  Lead efforts to develop and implement effective formal communication programs, establish and maintain informal practices, coordinate Operations’ written communications.  Participate in Green Room meetings as applicable.
  • Safety:  (20%)  Coordinate Operations’ safety program, participate in inspections, and coordinate/track facility safety training, monitor compliance issues relating to regulatory agencies, loss control carriers, and self- inspections. Maintains 1st report of injuries; and OSHA logs. Communicates with Corporate HR, Management, and employees and provides a full range of services which includes information regarding leaves and / or accommodations Monitors or ensures corporate compliance, administration and management of all leaves of absence including FMLA, non-FMLA and Workers' Compensation following federal/state regulations and established company leave policies. Acts as liaison with third party administrators, insurance vendors, litigators and medical providers.
  • Staffing:  (10%)  Lead efforts to develop facility staffing plans, develop and maintain position profiles, develop sourcing strategies, design and implement selection process including screening, develop and extend offers, design and implement orientation programs, conduct new hire processing,  administer AAP, determine contract staffing vendor requirements, establish and maintain contract staffing vendor relationships.
  • Benefits:  (10%)  Communicate benefits program, enroll new hires, assist with annual open enrollment, issue resolution, and answer benefit questions and concerns.
  • Compensation:  (5%)  Lead efforts to administer Performance Management Process, administer wage and salary program, participate in local surveys, and assist in annual budget process.
  • Training and Development:  (5%)  Lead efforts to conduct needs assessment, develop/conduct or vend/coordinate group training, plan/recommend/coordinate individual and subordinate development plans.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or directly related discipline
  • SHRM Certification preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of professional level generalist experience in Human Resources.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of safety processes
  • Knowledge of employment law and practices required
  • Strong prioritization, organizational and communication skills with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and service orientation
  • Must maintain the integrity and confidentiality of employee data.
  • Advanced skills with MS Word, MS Excel and UltiPro preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English perferred.
