RainBlo® bubble gum, introduced by Leaf Confectionery in 1940, was the first gumball with flavoring on the inside and color inside that matched the coating on the outside. Unique to the industry, RainBlo® featured a hollow center. In the 1940’s, two large gumballs cost one penny.
While Leaf produced numerous novelty gum items over the years, RainBlo® remained a strong brand after other items ceased to exist in the gum market. After over 50 years of transition, RainBlo® remains the number one gumball in the world.
Farley's & Sathers Candy Company, Inc. acquired the Rain-Blo brands from Hershey Foods in 2003.
